Η ταινία Cabaret του 1972 αφηγείται την ιστορία της Αμερικανίδας τραγουδίστριας καμπαρέ Sally Bowles (Liza Minnelli) και του Βρετανού ακαδημαϊκού Brian Roberts (Michael York) στο Βερολίνο του 1931. Βρίσκονται σε ένα περίπλοκο ερωτικό τρίγωνο με τον πλούσιο πλέιμποϊ Max (Helmut Griem) εν μέσω της κατάρρευσης της παρακμιακής Δημοκρατίας της Βαϊμάρης και της τρομακτικής ανόδου του ναζισμού, όλα πλαισιωμένα από τις φρικιαστικές παραστάσεις στο Kit Kat Klub.
